Man Crush Monday | Brad & Maggie Humberstone

Tell us the story of how you met...

After moving to Rochester, I wanted a way to casually meet new people and explore my new town.  Being your typical millennial with a "What's the worst that could happen?" kind of attitude, I joined Tinder.  If all else failed, at least I would get a nice meal every now and then, right?

And then Brad happened.  The one who changed it all.

We agreed to meet on a dark and and cold Tuesday night in October, at a tiny bar called Half Pint.  We sat on bar stools for hours, talking and laughing like we had been friends for years.  From the moment I met Brad, he made me feel like the most special person in the room.  Our first date was so easy and comfortable, I was hooked.

Two and a half years later, Brad would take me back to Half Pint on a summer evening and ask me to marry him.

What was the first date like?

Our first official date was an afternoon of hiking through Letchworth State Park.  Everything about that day was perfect.  After our hike, we stopped for cider doughnuts and apple cider.  We took the long way home on back country roads and grabbed dinner at one of his favorite spots.  I went home thinking about what life could be like with this amazing man by my side.

What makes him crush worthy?

Brad is such a special human.  Not only is he an amazing husband, he's an incredible friend, brother and son (and doggie-daddy).  His warmth, unconditional love, relentless positive-attitude and sense of humor make being his wife an absolute privilege.  Brad is the best man I've ever met and I consider myself a pretty lucky lady to have him as my daily crush.

What are you looking forward to most in your future together?

I am excited for the whole journey.  To watch Brad evolve and change and grow.  I can't wait to start a family and watch Brad transition into the role of being a new Dad.  I can't wait to see our how love evolves and changes and grows.  Brad has never loved me like I'm ordinary and it's made my life better in so many ways.

Tell us about your wedding day

In October 2017, Brad and I married in front of our family and friends at the Woodcliff Hotel.  We were blessed with seriously the most beautiful sunset during our ceremony.  The clouds literally opened and a beam of light lit us up as we said our "I do's".  You can't make that stuff up!

The whole day had "us" written all over it.  It was super romantic and full of love.

Anything else you'd like to share??

I was twenty minutes late to our first date.  He will never let me forget this and even managed working my tardiness into his proposal when he said, "although you were late to our first date, Maggie, you were right on time."

Ladies, find someone who sees the best in you and hold on to them forever.

Man Crush Monday | Nick Guadagnino

"Nick and I met in high school after I had transferred schools in sophomore year. We didn’t start dating right away, but there was something about him that always made me laugh and smile and occasionally wonder “what if we did start dating?”  Apparently everyone else wondered the same thing, even our teachers at the time would ask us “are you two an item yet?” We truly became best friends and were inseparable. We walked to every class together, ate lunch together, and maybe even took over the school and morning announcements  dressed as the “Spartan Cheerleaders” from Saturday Night Live and did surprise cheers in teacher’s doorways. We had so much fun together, we were the dynamic duo!

Finally one day toward the end of senior year, Nick happened to “miss the bus” and needed a ride home.  Me having a car at school and him being my best friend, I of course offered him a ride home! We got into my car and just as we were about to leave, Nick turns to me and says “sooooo….. I got the question again…..you know, if we’re dating yet?” I kind of giggled and told him that someone had asked me the same thing.  A little hesitant, he asked me if I would want to give it a try and maybe go to dinner.  Well, we went to that dinner and I guess you could say the rest is history! We’ve been an “item” ever since!

That dinner was about 7 ½ years ago.  I’m so unbelievably happy that I’ve gotten to share all this time and grow-up with my best friend.  We graduated high school together, made it through college, got real adult jobs, did real adult things like buy a house and get a little furry family member.  I can’t imagine going through all of this without you Nicholas, I would not change a single thing! Though it started 7 ½ years ago, this is just the beginning of our adventure.  I can’t wait to marry you Nicholas, you are my best friend.  I love you with all of my heart!" - Sam Cala

Man Crush Monday | Andrew Lee

"Andrew and I met in college, the moment I met him I thought he was attractive. He was also the only chivalrous guy I had ever met. He opened doors for me, walked me to class, helped me carry heavy things and would skip nights out with his friends to stay home with me. A few months in I knew he was the only one for me.

Recently, Andrew graduated medical school and is officially a doctor.  The first 2 years of medical school were tough because we were doing long distance. Many times I thought he would be too busy to do things or just wanted to focus on school. Instead, he surprised me and made time for us. I'm so proud of him for achieving his dream. Those late night study sessions, getting up those early mornings and missing fun events were so worth it. It still hasn't hit me that I am going to marry a doctor, mostly because I just see him for the person he is. This person is kind, generous, open-minded and strong.

I feel so fortunate to have found this man. It was literally luck that we found each other.  He is the only one that can put up with my crap, understand me, and cuddle me just right. In reference to "Grey's Anatomy" he is my person."

Andrew, I can't wait to marry you!  -- Tiffany

Heintz Engagement Session

This beautiful pair met on a blind date in 2009 -  it turned out being both of their first and last blind dates! They met up at Solera ("Erin was late!", Jeff lovingly chides whenever this story is told!). They've been together for 6 years since that infamous date, and are tying the knot this June at the Wadsworth Homestead in Geneseo. Erin is an Assistant General Counsel at Rochester Regional Health System, and Jeff is the Co-Owner of a new (and booming) venture called Hops Harvester. Not only was it a treat photographing this gorgeous couple, but their fur-babies Bailey & Dixie joined in the fun as well!

Spring has sprung (well, mostly...) which means love is in the air! I know a lot of my couples with longer engagements have been waiting for the weather to turn a bit nicer in order to do their engagement shoots. While we absolutely love winter engagement sessions. we totally understand a desire for flowers and not freezing your bums off. So to spark your creativity and excitement, here is the album design from one of our favorite spring time engagement sessions!
