Q: Tell us about your journey through womanhood.

A: My journey has been filled with lots of great things and also some challenges. My biggest challenges came at the same time. When I turned 50, I was going through a divorce and was diagnosed with breast cancer. With help of friends, family and a very disciplined fitness schedule, I got through it remarkably well. I realized how strong I was. While I was going through chemo and dealing with changes to my physical appearance, I realized that I had done nothing bad to deserve these chain of events and that I was a great woman that had a lot to offer. That is when I learned to appreciate my inner beauty and strengths. When I got through both of these challenges, I took up running. I completed three half marathons. Today, I am very blessed with two great kids, a loving boyfriend and so many other things. I am truly living my best life!

Q: What would you say to another woman who may be going through something you've been through?

A: That you are way stronger than you realize. Find five things each day for which to be grateful. Also physical exercise and working out can be a great way to release stress and feel better about yourself.

Q: What surprised you most about your photography experience?

A: That I wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought I would be. I really embraced the fun of it and had a great time. Also Natalie did a great job of making me comfortable.

Q: How do you feel when you look at your favorite photo of yourself from your shoot?

A: I feel amazing and think of myself as attractive. I have not always had that view of myself.

Q: What would you share with a woman who doesn't think she is beautiful enough to be photographed?

A: I think inner beauty, self confidence and a sense of humor sprinkled in is way more important than how we look on the outside. If you feel beautiful and sexy, then you are.

Q: What message would you like to share with other women?

A: Find the beauty in each day and take time to be grateful each day for what you do have. A positive mind set goes a long way to having a good self image and being happy.

Q: What are your thoughts on beauty?

A: I think being physically fit and healthy is more important than beauty. There are so many other traits that make a person beautiful other than looking like a model.

Q: What would you say to your sixteen year old self?

A: I would say that life rarely works out the way we plan it will. Sometimes Plan C and D are way better than Plan A. Live in the moment and enjoy the present, otherwise you might look back and realize that you missed out on some really great times.
